LED ZEPPELIN Nominated For SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME
October 21, 2006According to Launch Radio Networks, LED ZEPPELIN is among the artists who have been nominated for induction to the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. The organization cited Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and the late John Bonham for defining "the emerging rock genre of heavy metal" through songs including "Stairway To Heaven", "Whole Lotta Love", and "Communication Breakdown". Honorees will be announced in the spring, and the Songwriters Hall Of Fame induction ceremony will be held in New York City in June.
The Songwriters Hall Of Fame is "dedicated to recognizing and honoring the accomplishments and lives of those men and women who create the popular songs that serve as the soundtrack of our lives."
